About
The slow world, made visible
I'm a timelapse photographer and Director of Photography, working across documentary, sport and science.
Timelapse is the centre of what I do. Not as a visual effect or a transition between scenes; as a way of seeing. Compressing hours into seconds, capturing the movement of light and weather across a landscape, revealing processes that are invisible at normal speed. I approach it with the same discipline and narrative intent as any other cinematography. It is patient, precise work, and I've spent the better part of fifteen years getting better at it.
The rest of my work follows from the same instincts. I've shot character-driven documentaries, international sporting events for Eurosport and the ITF, and science and medical productions for Medtronic, Phonak and IGS. The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race put me in conditions not many would willingly go into with only a camera. I've worked in operating theatres, vertical farms, deserts, oceans and mountains, across 40 countries and several bodies of water that don't care whether you're ready. Conditions teach you things that sets don't.
Producers and directors hire me because I stay calm when things go wrong, make strong visual decisions quickly, and don't get in the way of the story. I'm a member of the GTC and an A2 CofC certified drone operator across the UK and EU.
